RU MVB Defeated Life U 3-1 at Home
Waleska, Ga - Reinhardt (GA) used a balanced and efficient attack to defeat Life 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-22, 25-19) on Thursday night at the Brown Athletic Center. The Eagles out-hit Life .296 to .115 and finished with 55 kills and eight team blocks to secure the four-set victory.
Jakub Aniolczyk and Denny Martinez led Reinhardt with 13 kills apiece, while Gabriel Gutierrez added 12 kills as part of a three-headed offensive effort that kept Life under pressure throughout the match. Aniolczyk totaled 15.5 points with a .296 hitting percentage, Martinez hit .348 for 13.5 points and Gutierrez hit a team-best .391 with 13.0 points. As a team, Reinhardt finished with 52 assists and 67 total points, overcoming 18 service errors with consistent sideout play and timely blocking.
Reinhardt set the tone early with a dominant opening set. The Eagles used a middle-of-the-set surge to pull away, stretching a 12-6 lead behind consecutive kills and tough serving from Decklan Fongbemi. An ace during a sequence involving server Nazmi Bayoglu helped extend the margin to 19-7, and Fongbemi capped the frame with a kill for a 25-14 win. Reinhardt's offense clicked from the outset, with the Eagles posting 55 kills on 115 swings for the match while holding Life to 35 kills and 23 attack errors.
Life responded in a tight second set, turning the momentum with stronger blocking and the attacking of outside hitter Serano Keijl. Keijl recorded multiple kills during a late surge that pulled Life even at 21-21, and a service ace from Jakub Kantorowicz pushed the visitors in front 24-21. Keijl then delivered the set-winning kill to close out a 25-23 victory, leveling the match at one set apiece and briefly seizing control.
Reinhardt answered in the third with another fast start, racing out to a 15-5 lead as Gutierrez and Aniolczyk repeatedly found seams in the Life block. The Eagles maintained a comfortable cushion until a late Life rally trimmed the deficit; Vincent Eisinga contributed a service ace and consecutive points to cut the margin to 24-22. Reinhardt steadied at the end, and Martinez sealed the pivotal frame with a kill for a 25-22 decision and a 2-1 match lead.
The Eagles controlled the fourth set from the opening rotations. Aniolczyk provided multiple early kills to help Reinhardt build an 11-4 advantage, and the Eagles never allowed Life to get closer than six points down the stretch. A Bayoglu service ace and additional kills from Gutierrez kept the margin comfortable at 22-16. Fittingly, Aniolczyk ended the match with a kill to close the set 25-19 and lock up the 3-1 win.
Keijl led Life with 14 kills on a .281 hitting percentage, adding 16.0 points, while setter Riley Chapman paced the attack with 30 assists, six digs and three block assists. Life finished with eight total blocks, one solo and 14 block assists, but could not match Reinhardt's efficiency or depth. With the victory, the Eagles reinforced their offensive balance and blocking presence, riding three double-digit kill performances and a near-.300 team hitting mark to a home-court result.
