Reinhardt defeats Georgetown 18-3 in final regular-season home game
Waleska, Ga. - Reinhardt put the game away early Saturday, racing to a 7-1 first-quarter lead and never letting Georgetown College back into it in an 18-3 win at Waleska. The Eagles led throughout in their final regular-season home game, turning the opening quarter into the decisive stretch and finishing behind a balanced attack and steady control of possession.
Lawna Henry led Reinhardt with five goals and one assist, including a third-quarter score that pushed the margin to 13-2 and a late goal with 44 seconds left that closed the scoring. Izzy Prestia added one goal and four assists, while Emma Perritte contributed two goals and three assists. Miranda Petrillo scored three times for the Eagles, who piled up 18 goals on 41 shots and placed 33 attempts on frame.
The tone was set in the first quarter. Reinhardt struck in bunches and carried a 7-1 advantage into the break after Carly Harris scored off an assist from Perritte at the 15-second mark. The Eagles added five more goals in the second quarter to build a 12-2 halftime lead, then kept the pressure on after the break when Perritte scored early in the second quarter off a Prestia assist and Henry connected early in the third, also from Prestia, to stretch the lead further.
Reinhardt also controlled the possession game. The Eagles finished with a 15-7 edge in draw controls and an 14-11 advantage in ground balls, while Georgetown committed 18 turnovers. Reinhardt cleared successfully 20 times in 21 chances and held Georgetown to nine total shots. In goal, the Eagles recorded four saves as they limited Georgetown to one goal in each of the first three quarters and kept the Tigers off the board in the fourth.
Georgetown got two early goals from Hannah Voss and received 15 saves from goalkeeper Kezia Ramos, who faced constant pressure throughout the afternoon. But Reinhardt's pace and passing were too much to overcome, especially with the Eagles producing 10 assists and getting scoring contributions across the lineup. The win sent Reinhardt out of its home regular-season schedule with a commanding performance, capped by Henry's final goal in the closing minute.
