Eagles Volleyball Sweeps Point in Home Opener
by Holly Heath
Waleska, GA - The Reinhardt Eagles began their series of conference play versus the Point University Skyhawks. The Eagles took a clean sweep over the Skyhawks (3-0; 25-15, 25-12, 25-23).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Reinhardt started the 1st set strong with an unstoppable offense and a tenacious defense. This carried into the 2nd set as well.
- Point University fought back in the 3rd making an 11-4 run. However, the Eagles battled back in a tight match & came out on top to clinch the 3-set victory.
Quote from Coach Brian Goodhind:
"Tonight was electric in our gym. That was the best crowd we have had in a couple of years and I can't thank everyone enough for coming out and supporting the team! It makes a difference and I hope we can continue to have that kind of environment through the season. As far as the match, it was great to see the girls trust one another and start our conference play with a win! What I'm very happy with was how the girls responded to the adversity in set 3. Point served a bit tougher that set and had us out of system a bunch in the third stanza. We have put in a lot of work in out-of-system situations and our team responded well coming back to take the set! In the end, we just went 1-0 today and we will wake up 0-0 and try to go 1-0 on Saturday in another conference match versus Columbia. As proud of the girls as I am, I want to give all the Honor and Glory to God. We are blessed to be able to do what we do and I'm thankful!#Family#S.O.A.R.#GoEagles"
