Waleska, Ga. - The Reinhardt Eagles women's soccer team hosted the Johnson University Royals on Wednesday afternoon at Ken White Field in Waleska, GA, delivering a solid performance in their AAC conference battle. The Eagles emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, strengthening their conference record to 6-1-2 and overall season record to 6-3-2.
The match started off strong for the Eagles, as Julia Knight scored the initial goal at 5:03 into the game, setting the tone for the rest of the event. This goal, which ended up being the game-winner, showcased the offensive capabilities of the Reinhardt team early in the match. The first half concluded with the Eagles leading 1-0 over the Royals.
In the second half, Kennedy Vinyard further extended the Eagles' lead with a goal at 45:45, assisted by Haley Sturla. This goal solidified the Eagles' control over the game. Throughout the match, goalkeeper Reagan Horton delivered an outstanding performance, achieving a shutout with 8 saves, a highlight noted for additional recognition after being named the NAIA Defender of the week last week.
The Eagles are set to face Union College next on Saturday, October 11th, away at 5pm, continuing their quest in the AAC conference.
