Waleska, Ga. - In a tightly contested AAC conference soccer game on Wednesday night, the Reinhardt University women's soccer team faced off against the Columbia International Rams in Waleska, GA, ultimately falling short with a score of 2-1 in favor of the Rams due to a last minute goal.
The match started off with both teams showcasing strong defense, reflected in the 0-0 scoreline as the first half concluded. Momentum shifted in the second half as Columbia International's Lohrane Boaventura broke the deadlock at the 60:08 mark, putting the Rams ahead. However, the Eagles quickly responded, with Harper Jowdry scoring the equalizing goal at 64:05, assisted by Lily Freeman. The game remained even until the closing moments, when Callie Rowe scored the winning goal for the Rams at 89:11, sealing their victory.
Noteworthy performances included Harper Jowdry, who was recognized for his impressive effort in scoring Reinhardt's sole goal. Reagan Horton, the goalie for Reinhardt, was commended despite the challenging outcome. Reinhardt's current season record now stands at 2-3-2.
