Black Mountain, NC – #2 RU women's lacrosse traveled to play Montreat on Saturday afternoon and earned the 26-5 win. This is RU's 7th straight win as they are now 7–1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
The Eagles started off hot as they were able to score 11 goals in the first quarter alone. Scoring for RU continued as they scored 5 goals in each of the remaining quarters to help put away this AAC match-up quickly.
RU's Anna Maria Gazzo continues to be a big offensive threat as she earned 5 goals and 3 assists in this match-up. Shelby O'Neil added 2 goals and 3 assists, while Jillian Mello added 4 goals. Mia Griswold also played a solid game, as she had 7 draw controls, picked up 4 grounds balls, and and had 3 goals.
Up next for the Eagles, they will be traveling to play Georgetown this upcoming Wednesday, March 20th, at 3pm.
