Blount Wins the Kim Moore Spirt Award for Women's Golf
WOMEN'S GOLF COACHES ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2021-22 NAIA AWARD WINNERS
CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (June 3, 2022) - The Women's Golf Coaches Association has announced the 2021-22 student-athlete and coaches awards for NAIA Women's Collegiate Golf. The awards are selected by a prestigious collection of women's collegiate golf coaches. For more information, please visit www.wgcagolf.com.
Eagles Women's Golf, Debbie Blount, was awarded the NAIA Kim Moore Spirit Award by the WGCA this week along with several other winners in women's golf throughout the United States. Blount is a sophomore at Reinhardt and she is not your traditional student-athlete. Blount returned to college later in life and decided to give it a shot and join the Women's Golf Program. She is in her second year competing and has become an important member of the team. She competes in the top five for most tournaments and she is a contributing member. Once one the course and the initial reaction from opposing players - she is just another college athlete out on the course competing just like the others. Blount's determination and good spirit make joining an NAIA sport competing with athletes more than half her age achievable. She has two more years left to compete as an Eagle so look for her to keep improving and working her way up the golf lineup.

Kim Moore Spirit Award
This award is dedicated to Kim Moore, who played golf for the University of Indianapolis (1999-2003). Kim was an inspiration to all as she persevered through many physical challenges while playing collegiate golf. Her positive outlook and dedication to the game were only outdone by her sense of humor and passion for the game.
The purpose of the award is to recognize and honor a student-athlete or coach who exemplifies a great spirit toward the game of golf, a positive attitude on and off the golf course, a role model for her team, and mental toughness in facing challenges.
To be nominated, the student-athlete must:
- Be of high moral character and in good standing at the college making the nomination.
- Actively participate within the guidelines of the golf program at her respective University.
To be considered, the coach making the nomination MUST include a highly detailed evaluation and description as to why the student-athlete or coach should be considered as a candidate. Nominations that do not include a detailed resume will not be considered.
