Eagles Now Sit at #1 In AAC With WIN Over Bryan
February 8, 2026
Waleska, GA- Reinhardt University built a 19-point second-half lead behind efficient shooting and a strong defensive effort, then held off a late Bryan rally to secure a 71-64 victory on Saturday afternoon at the Brown Athletic Center.
The Eagles shot 52.0% from the field (26-for-50) and 35.3% from 3-point range (6-for-17) while limiting Bryan to 33.3% shooting (24-for-72). Reinhardt led 51-31 after three quarters and pushed the margin to 47-28 midway through the third before Bryan's fourth-quarter surge trimmed the final deficit to seven. The visitors outscored Reinhardt 32-20 in the final quarter but never fully erased the gap the Eagles created over the first 30 minutes.
Emariah Grant paced Reinhardt with a game-high 20 points, going 6-for-15 from the floor, 4-for-10 from beyond the arc and a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line in 32 minutes. I'ziah McCutchins added 17 points on an efficient 6-for-7 shooting, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range, and chipped in five rebounds and three assists. Londaisha Smith provided another key scoring option with 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting to go with five rebounds in 33 minutes. Grant was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 20, McCutchins also contributed with 17 points and 3 assists. Chloe VanDyke and MAckenzie Franklin led the rebounds with 7.
This was a important win for the Eagles as they move into number 1 in AAC and continue their 12-game winning streak! The Eagles will be on the road this Wednesday when they face CIU and will look to continue their momentum in these last couple games before the AAC Tournament.
