Dayton, TN - In a closely contested AAC conference basketball game at Summers Gymnasium on Wednesday night, the Reinhardt University women's basketball team fell to the Bryan College Lions with a final score of 67-60. This game brought the Eagles' season record to 5-5, adjusting their conference record to 3-1.
The first period started with Bryan College taking an early lead, as the Lions extended their advantage to 10 points, concluding the period ahead at 21-13. Despite a challenging second period for the Bryan team struggled with offensive execution, while Reinhardt scored 15 points to close the point differential. Bryan managed to lead by the halftime break, finishing at 29-28.
The third period saw Bryan College regain momentum, securing their largest lead of 15 points, and concluding the game at 67-60.
Top performers for the Eagles included Londaisha Smith, who led the scoring with 15 points, followed by I'ziah McCutchins with 12 points and Mackenzie Franklin with 9 points. Chloe VanDyke notably contributed with 10 rebounds. The Eagles demonstrated resilience with significant contributions from the bench in a valiant comeback effort, though it fell short.
