Camp and McCrary Score Early in Matchup with #2 Life University
Waleska, GA - Reinhardt University Wrestling faced a tough #2-ranked Life University team on Wednesday afternoon at the Brown Athletic Center. The Eagles started strong, picking up wins early, but the visiting Running Eagles poured it on in the later matches to take the conference win, 39-9.
Reinhardt got wins in the 133 and 141 weight classes behind two talented wrestlers, Lee Camp and newcomer Caden McCrary, respectively. Camp's win ended in a pin of his Life opponent at the 6:53 mark of the match and tied the overall score at six apiece. McCrary dominated his match as well and had chances for a pin, but ended up winning 8-4 and adding three points to the Eagles. These are two wrestlers that Coach Bedard's squad will depend on as the season progresses and the wrestlers move closer to postseason tournaments.
Despite unfortunate losses, a couple of noteworthy performances came from Maddox McArthur and Garrett Pace, who both wrestled up a weight class from their previous matches. McArthur wrestled at 149, and Pace moved up to 157 for this match-up with Life. Both had very competitive matches, despite facing an opponent who was seasoned in that particular weight class. McArthur lost 7-2, and Pace lost narrowly in the final minutes, 4-1.
This was the last home event at Reinhart for 2025. The Eagles will have a short break over the holiday season and will return for a dual and open tournament held at Huntingdon University in Montgomery, Alabama, on January 6th & 7th, 2026.
