Eagles Win Two of Three at Smoky Mountain Duals
Gatlinburg, TN - Reinhardt Wrestling was back in action for its second weekend in a row, competing in a dual-style tournament. This time, the Eagles were back in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, at the Smoky Mountain Duals held at Rocky Top Sports Complex for the second year in a row. Reinhardt faced Conerstone University, Georgetown College, and Campbellsville University in their three dual matches. In total, there were sixteen universities competing, which included teams like Life University, the University of the Cumberlands, and Liberty University.
The Eagles were able to take two of the three duals. They defeated Cornerstone 23-19 and Georgetown 28-17. They had trouble with ranked Campbellsville University losing by the score of 30-13.
Several wrestlers had outstanding days, either going undefeated or only losing one match. Caleb Pruitt finished with the best record of the day in the 285 weight class. He went 3-0 in his matches and pinned his opponent in the Campbellsville match. Also going undefeated was Caden McCrary at 2-0 in the 141 weight class as he defeated his opponents in the Campbellsville and Georgetown matches. Maddox McArthur was 1-0 at 141, beating his opponent from Cornerstone University.
Garrett Pace (149), Aiden Platt (165), Lee Camp (133), and Aaron Riner (197) had good days, only losing one match against their opponents.
