Eagles Take Three at Carolina Clash; Four Wrestlers Undefeated!
Greenwood, SC - Reinhardt Wrestling competed on Sunday at the Carolina Clash hosted by Landers University. The multi-team dual event had nine NCAA and NAIA college teams in attendance, including the Eagles. Coker University, Emmanuel University, Emory & Henry, Glenville State, Landers University, Lincoln Memorial, Mount Olive, Newberry, and Reinhardt University were matched up in various formats where each school had three dual matches. Reinhardt faced Coker, Lincoln Memorial, and Mount Olive in their three duals.
The Eagles were able to take all three matches on Sunday, with the closest being the matchup with Mount Olive. Reinhardt had the narrow win 26-20 over the Trojans. In the other two matches, the Eagles were able to win convincingly, 49-5 over Lincoln Memorial and 42-6 over Coker.
Reinhardt had four wrestlers go 3-0 on the day and they had five wrestlers go 2-1 in the three matches. Garrett Pace (149), Brock Gunnels (157), Nate Bukovich (174), and Aaron Riner (197) were all undefeated in the one-day dual event. Colton Bishop (125), Lee Camp (133), Joabe Araujo (165), Jonathan Paramore (184), and Caleb Pruitt (285) all finished 2-1 in their three matches. This Saturday, the Eagles will be traveling to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, for the Rocky Top Duals. This is a similar event to the Carolina Clash, but with a wider variety of competition. The duals can be followed on TrackWrestling.com. After this weekend, Reinhardt will host a tough dual match with Life University on Wednesday, December 17th.
