Eagles Set Two School Records, Pile Up PRs at Life University Super Bowl Invite
Marietta, GA - Reinhardt University Indoor Track and Field turned the Life University Super Bowl Indoor/Outdoor Invite into a benchmark outing, collecting two school records and 23 personal records in a strong mid-season showing. Sprinter Abigail Bell and middle-distance runner Noelle Dawes headlined the day with program-best performances. At the same time, the Eagles posted notable efforts across the sprints, distance events, hurdles, jumps, and throws.
Bell delivered one of the meet's signature performances on the track, lowering the women's 200-meter school record with a time of 26.38 seconds. She also clocked 8.13 in the 60 meters as she anchored Reinhardt's women's short-sprint contingent, which included a solid double from Kenadi Aker at 8.10 in the 60 and 26.97 in the 200. Dawes added the second school record of the day in the rarely contested women's 600 meters, stopping the clock in 1:42.74 to cap a standout effort in the middle distances.
The distance group continued the momentum with a series of strong marks and personal bests. On the women's side, Rylee Fisher ran 5:36.21 in the mile, while Tatiana Williams notched a mile personal record in 6:33.05. In the longer races, Kimberly Guerra ran a PR of 11:06.44 in the 3,000 meters, and the 5,000 meters saw personal bests from Teara Snider (20:13.13) and Wes Fow (16:49.51), along with strong efforts by Lily Tullock (20:46.95) and Will Baldwin, who also hit a 5,000-meter PR at 16:49.56.
Reinhardt's men's sprints and middle-distance crew also produced a series of headline performances. In the 60 meters, JT Neal clocked 6.99, while Hayden Reyes crossed in 7.01, giving the Eagles a potent one-two in the short dash. Neal came back with a 22.40 personal record in the 200 meters, and Reyes added a 22.14 in the same event. Ethan Spector dropped PRs in both the 60 (7.42) and 200 (23.64), and Chase Malloy turned in a 200-meter PR of 22.58 before clocking 50.29 in the 400. In the mid-distance races, Braniff Mahoney (1:57.83) and Sean Weeks (2:00.36) both recorded personal records in the 800, while Uriel Guzman added a 1,000-meter PR in 2:38.47 and Ben Pearce ran 4:32.24 in the mile. Distance standout Will Ort led the way with a 5,000-meter PR of 15:50.31 and added a 4:46.27 mile.
The hurdles and jumps groups contributed their own wave of improvement. On the women's side, Lilly Savage posted a personal best of 9.69 in the 60-meter hurdles, while June DeLauder added a PR of 11.14 in the same event. For the men, Chris James ran a personal-record 8.86 in the 60 hurdles, and Kamryn Penny followed closely with a 9.24 PR before stretching out to 6.74 meters in the long jump. In the vertical and horizontal jumps, Ebuka Ezeobi cleared 1.86 meters in the high jump for a personal best, and the triple jump squad saw solid marks from Ben Abernathy at 12.64 meters and Dwayne Gary at 12.39.
The throws unit capped the meet with one of its strongest collective performances of the season, highlighted by a big breakthrough from Caleb Hamilton in the weight throw. Hamilton launched a personal-record mark of 17.02 meters, the top throw of the day for Reinhardt, as the Eagles' throwers stacked PR after PR. Mason Coley recorded a 13.90-meter PR, Liam Gerdis added a 13.41-meter PR, and Evan Butcher threw 11.21 meters for another personal best. Felipi Ferreira added to the tally with an 11.36-meter PR in the weight, while Marquia White turned in a solid double in the women's throws at 10.90 meters in the shot put and 13.67 meters in the weight throw.
With two new school records and 23 personal records across nearly every event group, the Eagles used the Life University Super Bowl Invite to underscore both their depth and upward trajectory during the indoor season. The all-around improvement from sprints to distance and from hurdles to throws positions Reinhardt to carry substantial momentum into its next meet and the championship phase of the schedule. The Eagles will travel to Birmingham this weekend for the Samford University Bulldog Open and then will compete in the AAC Indoor Championships in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on February 19-20.
