Waleska, GA - Reinhardt Men's Soccer dropped their third game in a row with a loss to Columbia College on Saturday, 0-3. The Koalas of Columbia College scored two goals in the first half and added one more in the second half, bringing the Eagles' overall record to 2-6-2 and 2-4-1 in AAC play.
Forwards John Simmons and Evan DeYou provided some action up front for the Eagles, but they could never break the backline of the Koalas. In total, the Eagles were only able to get four shots on goal compared to twelve by Columbia.
Reinhardt was able to play many players that often do not get time on the field, including backup goalkeeper Felipe Peixoto. Peixoto ended the game with four saves from five shots on goal. Starting keeper, Andree Meza, ended the game with three saves from five shots on goal.
The loss drops Reinhardt to the tenth spot in the AAC standings. This is the final AAC Tournament spot, so the Eagles will need to start stringing together a few wins to stay in the running for the postseason tournament. Next up for the Eagles is another AAC home matchup that will be on Wednesday evening in Waleska. The Johnson Royals will be in town to take on the Eagles, with the game starting around 5:15 pm. The Royals sit one spot ahead of Reinhardt in the AAC standings with identical conference records.
