Eagles Finish Seventh in Spring Season Opener
Jekyll Island, GA - Reinhardt Men's Golf competed at the 2026 Coastal Georgia Men's Winter Invitational on February 9th - 10th in Jekyll Island, GA. The invitational was held at the Jekyll Island Golf Club—seventeen teams from across the NAIA were in attendance, with 88 total golfers competing.
Jekyll Island Golf Club is a 72-par, 7,014 total yards course for this three-round tournament. The average score of all the teams was 77.82. Two rounds were held on Monday, February 9th, and the last round was on Tuesday, February 10th.
Reinhardt finished tied for seventh place overall, tied with Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) member, Columbia International. The Eagles had a three-round total of 39 strokes over par, with their three rounds being +15, +12, and +12, respectively. Webber International finished in first place with a three-round total of +7 over par, which was ten strokes better than second place finisher, Ottawa University Arizona.
Griffin Latimer and MJ Hodge were the top finishers for the Eagles. Both were tied for 27th place overall with a three-round total of +10 over par. Lattimer shot a +5, +1, and +4 in his three rounds. Hodge was +3, +2, and +5 in his three rounds.
Trey Schmidt was 35th overall with a total of +12 overall. Pride Dyer and Zane May both tied for 41st overall with a three-round total of +14.
This was the spring season opener for the #2-ranked Eagles. They will continue the spring season schedule next Monday and Tuesday at the Kinderlou Forest Spring Invite in Valdosta, Georgia.
