The AAC Tournament is Set for Men's and Women's Basketball
Kingsport, TN - After four months of basketball, everything comes down to this week for Reinhardt Men's and Women's Basketball. The women's team is going in with high hopes of winning the tournament and continuing their postseason to the NAIA Nationals. The men's team is going in looking to upset a few teams and make some noise. It is win or go home for all the teams now.
Reinhardt Women's Basketball ended up tied for second place in the final AAC standings after losing a close, but important game to regular-season winner Milligan Buffaloes two weekends ago. The Eagles will need to make it to the championship game and hope that their opponent is Milligan. If this happens, they will continue to the Nationals by means of the AAC sending two teams to the national tournament. However, the Eagles want to win the whole thing to leave no questions on whether they should be in or not. Their journey will begin on Thursday afternoon in Kingsport when they face the Royals of Johnson University at 9:15 pm.
If the Eagles win, they will continue on Friday to face the winner of the Bryan vs Spartanburg/Union game (Spartanburg and Union play on Wednesday). That game is scheduled for 8 pm. The championship is scheduled for Saturday at 3 pm. For more info on the women's tournament, please visit this link: https://www.aacsports.com/sports/wbkb/2025-26/releases/20260222rcir21
The men's road is slightly more difficult, but they have the ability and talent to make some things happen if all things are clicking. The Eagles are going in as the tenth and final playoff team for the AAC. The team has had a roller coaster season, where they knocked off some upper-echelon teams, but lost some close ones that could have moved them to the upper half of the standings.
The Eagles will start their journey on Wednesday at 12:45 pm against the #7 Tennessee Wesleyan. Reinhardt will have to play one game every day, Wednesday through Saturday, if they want their season to continue. They will be taking one game at a time and see what happens. The talent and skill level is there to beat anyone they face, but they will have to play their best game each time they hit the florr this week.
