Reinhardt rolls past Andrew College 51-6 on Senior Day
WALESKA, Ga. - Reinhardt pulled away with a barrage of big plays and defensive pressure Saturday, beating Andrew College 51-6 in a Senior Day flag football matchup at Waleska. The Eagles led from the opening quarter and put the game out of reach with an 18-point fourth quarter, capping the afternoon with Johana Clophus' 3-yard touchdown reception from Alexus Wilson with 45 seconds left.
The victory came as Reinhardt honored the first senior class in program history, recognizing Victoria Salmon, Tatianna Allicock and Kaliah Wimbush before the game. The Eagles then turned the day into a showcase on both sides of the ball. Reinhardt finished with 344 total yards, averaged 7.8 yards per play and controlled possession for 39:23, while the defense forced two interceptions and recorded four sacks.
Addy Anderson directed the offense efficiently, completing 17 of 24 passes for 202 yards and five touchdowns. Her connection with Blye Townsell set the tone early. Townsell opened the scoring on a 47-yard touchdown catch with 8:47 left in the first quarter, and the pair connected again late in the quarter on a 53-yard scoring drive that pushed Reinhardt's lead to 13-0 with 1:38 remaining. Townsell finished with four receptions for 71 yards and two touchdowns.
Reinhardt added to the lead in the second quarter when Anderson found senior Tatianna Allicock for a touchdown at the 3:38 mark, making it 19-0 by halftime. Andrew College's best answer came in the third quarter, when Kimaya Grant connected with Izoria Smith on a 53-yard touchdown pass that cut the margin to 25-6 with 5:16 left in the quarter. Smith was the Tigers' top threat, finishing with seven catches for 158 yards and a score, while Grant went 13 of 21 for 188 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Any momentum from that play was brief. Reinhardt answered with Alexus Wilson, who contributed as both a passer and runner. Wilson scored on a short rushing touchdown with 3:03 left in the third quarter to extend the lead to 31-6, then later threw the final touchdown pass to Clophus. Wilson finished 7 of 12 passing for 87 yards and a touchdown, while adding 40 rushing yards and a rushing score on three attempts. Senior Kaliah Wimbush also found the end zone on a short run early in the fourth quarter, pushing the advantage to 37-6.
The Eagles kept attacking through the final minutes. Anderson threw her fifth touchdown pass of the day to Rebecca Jenkins with 7:25 remaining for a 43-6 lead before Wilson and Clophus closed the scoring. Reinhardt scored in every quarter, posting 13 points in the first, six in the second, 12 in the third and 18 in the fourth. Turnovers, pressure on the quarterback and several explosive pass plays shaped the flow throughout, and on a day built to honor program history, the Eagles finished with one of their most complete offensive performances of the season.
