"Great day to be an EAGLE!" Reinhardt Football has Another Successful Signing Day
Waleska, GA - Each year in February, college football fans across the country dial into their favorite program to see what their schools were able to get and bolster the future for the team. There are no guarantees on the players that sign with your program, but the day gives a moment of optimism and excitement about what is to come. It is not any different for Reinhardt University Football, where the coaching staff has been working tirelessly since the team ended its season in Lakeland, Florida, after a narrow loss in the first round of the NAIA playoffs. The Eagles brought in hundreds of high school students from across the southeast to see who could be the next to wear the navy and gold. The coaching staff and Head Coach James Miller feel like they were able to land the right players to reload at certain positions and give important backup to others that have solid starters in front.
Reinhardt Football had a very successful 2025 season, despite coming up just a few points short of moving to the second round of the NAIA playoffs. The team was led by players like All-Americans Emmanuel Olaitan (defensive end), Zac Lyle (offensive line), and automatic placekicker Alex Hanson. They also had team leaders and All-Conference performers like Jah Colbert (running back), Braylon Jones (defensive back), and Bryghton Peters (defensive back), to just name a few, who helped the Eagles have a tremendous season at Ken White Field. Most of these players have done their part for the program and will be moving on, which makes signing day very important and one of the reasons the coaching staff has worked diligently to bring in top-level talent.
Head Coach James Miller feels like he and his staff have been able to bring in the players that fit and work for their program and he had this to say about the process, "Great day to be an EAGLE!!! I would like to thank my staff for the tremendous amount of effort they made to put this class together. It's a lot of phone calls and texts to make this happen. I work with special people. I also like to give a special thanks to AD Jonathan Burton, Assistant Madison Smith, Admission Liaison Javen Wimberly, SID David Finney, and Cameron Cagle for all their efforts. I think we hit at every position group. We made Lines of scrimmage an emphasis and added size, speed, and strength to LOS. Wide receivers need to provide our QBs guys with a larger catch radius - we did that by adding guys with a 6'6, 6'4, 6'3, and some 6'2 body types that could go attack the football. Bruisers in the backfield were the name of the game for the style we like to play with. Linebackers are where we always want to find Runners and Hitters and we did that with a guy like Talien Sampson from NE Macon. Defensive Backs must be versatile and have multiple-meaning ability to play man and zone. We added a lot of length to the back end, which will be something new for us. This Class is special and will be the foundation for the future of Reinhardt football for years to come."
Reinhardt Football is full of talent that is already on campus, and these players will step up to fill the voids left by some of the star players who have graduated and moved on. Next season will be a time for new talent to rise up and the staff feels like they have the players to do this. The new crop of freshmen will make their way to campus in July/August of 2026, but each will need to keep working and pushing during the "off-season" time to prepare for what is to come and to be ready for what the coaching staff has in store for them. Reinhardt Football has a brand and the new players coming in know what is expected of them. In return, Eagles fans can expect another season of tough, hard-hitting action at Ken White Field in 2026.
The team will have spring training coming up in mid-March, which will end with the annual Navy-Gold game. Stay tuned to Reinhardt Athletics and Reinhardt Football on Instagram and X for more updates. Go Eagles!
