Lindsey Announces Resignation as Head Coach of Reinhardt Baseball
Waleska, GA - Reinhardt University Athletics disclosed a change in leadership for its baseball program on Wednesday, May 6, as Reinhardt Baseball Head Coach Brett Lindsey announced his resignation following his time leading the Eagles this past year. Lindsey had served as Reinhardt's head coach since May 2025, after previously spending one year on the baseball staff as an assistant during the 2024-25 season.
The move comes after a 2025-26 season in which Reinhardt finished 23-28 overall and 14-13 in conference play. The Eagles placed seventh in the Appalachian Athletic Conference standings while navigating one of the nation's toughest schedules. Reinhardt's schedule carried a national strength-of-schedule ranking of No. 15 in the NAIA.
Lindsey took over a roster that had lost much of the 2024-25 group, including two NAIA All-Americans and 11 AAC All-Conference players. Reinhardt returned only two position players and one pitcher with experience from the spring 2025 roster, and the staff also managed several key pitching injuries at the start of the season. Even with those early losses, the Eagles showed improvement during conference play and made a late push as the season progressed, as the team earned the seventh spot in the AAC Postseason Tournament.
Before becoming Reinhardt's head coach, Lindsey built a wide range of experience across college and summer baseball. His stops included the University of South Alabama in 2019, Broward College in 2020, Indiana University Southeast from 2021 through 2023, and Georgia Gwinnett in 2023-2024. He also worked in the Northwoods League and Ohio Valley League from 2018 through 2022, giving him experience in both the college and independent summer-game environments.
Executive Director of Athletics Jonathan Burton added this about Lindsey's resignation, " I appreciate Brett and his family for their commitment to our program in giving their very best for Reinhardt Baseball. Brett is always welcome in our program and will always be a part of what we do here. While this is disappointing, we are going to support him and his family in this decision.
We feel this is one of the best NAIA Baseball jobs in the country, from past success to facilities, location, and its traditions. Our search will begin quickly and intently in bringing the next leader to Reinhardt Baseball."
