Bryan Pulls Away from the Eagles in the Opening Game of the AAC Tournament
Kingsport, TN - Bryan College broke open a tight game with a five-run sixth inning and went on to hand Reinhardt a 9-1 loss Tuesday at Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tennessee. The Eagles were held to three hits, and Bryan starter Tanner Everett went the distance in a complete-game effort.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third, when Bryan took advantage of a defensive miscue to grab the lead. Jack Reynolds scored on a third-base error during a play involving Jayron Morris, and Denajh Williams followed by drawing a bases-loaded walk that brought home Cyrus Campos for a 2-0 edge.
Reinhardt stayed within striking distance behind Logan Lynch, who struck out seven over five innings. But Bryan took control in the sixth. Williams doubled and later scored on a Will Curcio single, then Campos delivered a single to center with the bases loaded. A throwing error on the play allowed two more runs to score. Morris later reached on an error for an RBI, and Caleb Ramsey added an RBI single as Bryan pushed the lead to 7-0.
The Eagles broke through in the top of the eighth. Easton Sears scored Reinhardt's lone run on a sacrifice fly by Cade Chamlee, trimming the deficit to 7-1. Bryan answered in the bottom half with a sacrifice fly from Campos and an RBI single by Morris to restore the eight-run margin.
Defensive miscues proved costly for Reinhardt, which committed four errors and allowed several unearned runs. Bryan scored nine runs on eight hits, while also drawing 10 walks. Campos finished with two hits, two runs scored and three RBIs, and Morris drove in three runs.
Despite having a very successful season with the Eagles and arguably the top pitcher on the staff, Lynch had a rough outing, giving up five runs (three earned) in five innings for Reinhardt. He did record seven strikeouts in his innings, but this is one that he would like to get back. Hopefully, the Eagles can pick up a few wins so he has one more shot at the AAC Tournament.

Everett closed it out by finishing all nine innings for Bryan, allowing one run on three hits with seven strikeouts on 126 pitches. Reinhardt pitchers recorded eight strikeouts as a staff, but the Eagles could not generate enough offense to recover after Bryan's sixth-inning surge.
The Eagles will now watch the remaining games of the day and begin preparing for Wednesday morning's game. In the second game of the day, Spartanburg Methodist upended the Rams of CIU to advance in the winner's bracket. This puts CIU and the Eagles in a Wednesday morning matchup, with the loser heading home and their 2026 season coming to an end. The game is set for 9 am on Wednesday morning at Hunter Wright Stadium.
