The Eagles Remain at the Top of AAC Standings with Sweep at Pikeville
Waleska, Ga. - The Reinhardt University women's volleyball team triumphed over the Pikeville Bears with a clean sweep of 3-0 in their latest AAC conference game held in Waleska, GA on Friday night.
The first set set the tone with the Eagles clinching a close 25-21 victory, showcasing resilience and tactical prowess. Momentum continued in the second set with Reinhardt dominating to win 25-18. By the third set, the Eagles had established their superiority, wrapping up with a score of 25-20 to seal their win.
Key players emerged prominently throughout the match, with Juliette Baffico leading in kills with 13, closely followed by Jenna Smith with 12. Zoe Van Waaijen also contributed significantly with 7 kills. On the defensive side, Breah Watson was formidable with 4 blocks, supporting the Eagles' stronghold on the match along with Smith and Van Waaijen who each had 2 blocks.
Defensive plays were critical, and Silvia Aguado led the digs with an impressive 19, further fortified by Baffico's 15 digs and Giulia Julve's contribution of 5. The game also saw effective serving with Giulia Julve delivering 3 service aces.
