Marietta, Ga. - The Reinhardt University Women's Volleyball Eagles showcased a strong performance at the Running Eagles Classic, securing a decisive win against Warner and Life on Saturday.
RU vs. Warner, 3-0:
In the first set, the Eagles set the pace early, winning 25-17. This momentum was maintained in the second set with an identical scoreline of 25-17. The third set proved a bit more challenging, yet the Eagles clinched it with a score of 25-21, completing a clean sweep against Warner.
Key performers for Reinhardt included Giulia Julve, who led with 10 kills, followed by Breah Watson with 8 kills and Kaylee Cantlin with 7 kills. On the defensive front, Emma Ponkova was a major force with 8 blocks, and Breah Watson also contributed significantly with 4 blocks. The defensive game was further strengthened by Silvia Aguado, who made an impressive 20 digs during the tournament.
Additionally, the Eagles displayed strong teamwork as shown by the assists distributed among Ashlynn Barnes who led with 18, Halle Janik with 13, and Giulia Julve who contributed 2 assists. Each of these players also served up aces, contributing further to the team's victory.
