Eagles Fall in Tought 5-Set Match on the Road to Brenau

Gainesville, GA – The Reinhardt University women's volleyball team traveled to Brenau University to play AAC opponents, the Golden Tigers. Reinhardt played Brenau earlier in the season which resulted in a 3-2 victory for the Eagles. However, this match resulted in a different 5-set outcome. With every set being tight, the Golden Tigers managed to come out on top over the Eagles in this competitive match (2-3; 25-22, 24-26, 26-28, 28-26, 9-15). With this loss, the Eagles are sitting at 13-5 in the AAC, while Brenau improves it's record to 10-18 in the AAC 

 

Outstanding Performers:

  • Allison Selway led the Eagle offense this afternoon with 12 kills (.219). While Katherine Perrin was closely behind with 11 (.188). Selway added 4 blocks on the night as well.
  • Maria Cordova led in assists with 29. 
  • Alma Vazquez Nunez had the squad-high of 23 digs while Sarah Sweet had 2nd most with 14. Vazquez Nunez also added 5 service aces on the night.
  • Emma Ponkova ended the match with 7 total blocks.

UP NEXT:

  • The Reinhardt University women's volleyball team will continue its conference play on-the-road where they will travel to Milligan. The Eagles will match-up against the Buffalos this upcoming Friday, October 28th, at 6:30pm. This will be the first match-up between these two teams this season.
