Women's Golf Finishes 4th at AAC National Qualifier
Adairsville, GA - This past Monday and Tuesday, the Women's Golf Team participated in the AAC National Qualifier Tournament at Barnsley Gardens Resort. Eight teams from the AAC were competing in the tournament with a total of 49 golfers.
Truitt McConnell ended up winning the competition with a total team score of 615. Reinhardt finished in the middle at fourth place with a score of 672.
Lauren Welte was the top finisher for the Eagles coming in tied for eighth with a total score of 158 which was just 12 strokes over par. She was consistent with 79 shots in both rounds.
Katie Kauffman was not far behind finishing in fourteenth place overall with a total score of 163 for the two rounds. Her first round was an 81 and the second round she shot 82 putting her 17 strokes over par.
Brooke Newsome, Debbie Blount, and Maggie Mullins were the other members of the Reinhardt tournament team that helped them get the fourth-place finish.
The top finisher of the tournament was MinJi Kang of Truett McConnell who shot a 137 total for the two rounds and was 9 under par. This helped Truett McConnell pull away from the Pack finishing just above Milligan, SCAD-Atlanta, and Reinhardt.
This tournament was the qualifier tournament for the 27th Annual Women's Golf National Championship which will take place May 24-27, 2022 at Lincoln Park West in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
