KINGSPORT, Tenn. – The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) office announced the All-AAC squads on Monday night and four Eagles were recognized – two from each team – as both Emily Loveless and Jill Martinet were named First Team All-AAC.
The accolades weren't done there, either, as the duo of Emma Adams and Megan Huss were selected to the All-AAC Second Team as well.
The foursome of student-athletes all helped Reinhardt earn the three seed for the AAC Softball Championship with a record of 37-11 (20-6 AAC). The tournament started Monday and runs through Friday.
Loveless led the team in batting with a .449 average to go along with a squad-best 70 hits, scored 57 runs, hit 11 homers and earned 47 RBIs. The freshman shortstop also walked 24 times and stole 11 bases. Martinet was next in line with a .409 average in the batter's box and 65 hits. The Cucamonga, Calif., native was just one RBI behind Loveless with 46.
Of the second team members, Adams collected 58 knocks, including a club-high 19 doubles. She also smashed seven home runs. Huss was a fixture in both the batter's box and the field for the hometown team, as she gathered a .336 average with 51 hits, 24 RBIs and 8 doubles. Defensively, Huss roamed the outfield and made 45 putouts while making just two errors.

Additionally, and earlier on Monday, Martinet and Whitney Shepherd swept the weekly conference honors as the AAC Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
Martinet batted .500 (7-for-14) last week with a pair of doubles and seven RBIs, including driving in a couple runs in the Eagles' win on the road, 5-1, over No. 8 Georgia Gwinnett to help even the season series with the Grizzlies at 3-3.
Shepherd had a solid week as well with a win and a save, highlighted by surrendering just one run to Georgia Gwinnett in the aforementioned triumph.
The AAC Championship gets started for Reinhardt tomorrow evening against Bryan (Tenn.) in the nightcap, which is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Brickyard Ball Fields.
