New Records Set at AAC Championships; Fisher & Mahoney Qualify for Nationals!
Knowville, TN - Reinhardt Men's and Women's Cross Country wrapped up another successful season with strides gained on both teams. The women's team continued to set new team records at every meet this season, while the men's team kept knocking on the door to catching Milligan and Montreat. Both teams placed fourth in their respective divisions, with the women's team setting a new team record in the 6k with a time of 23:23.
Rylee Fisher, who burst on the scene in her freshman year by qualifying for the NAIA Nationals, once again had a great day with a time of 22:18 and placed 16th overall in the women's division. This is a new school record for Reinhardt Cross Country on the women's side. Her time qualified her again for the 2025 NAIA Nationals, which will take place on November 21st in Tallahassee, Florida. It is the 46th Annual Cross Country Championships for the women's side.
Every runner on the women's side hit personal records for the 6k run, with Fisher, Noelle Dawes, and freshman Kimberly Guerra placing as the top three Eagles.
Braniff Mahoney was the top Eagle on the men's side, placing a very respectable 10th place overall, and this earned him a spot on the AAC Men's Cross Country 2nd Team All-Conference. His time of 25:41 in the 8k secured his spot in the 2025 NAIA Cross Country Championships, where he will join Fisher. This will be the 70th NAIA Men's Cross Country Championships, also taking place in Tallahassee, Florida.
Freshman John Dodson, who has been fighting a leg injury the past few meets, also had a great day running in Knoxville. He finished in 19th place overall with a time of 26:19, and this earned him a spot on the AAC All-Freshman Team. Dodson has had a superb freshman season running for the Eagles, always placing in the top spots for the Eagles. From his efforts that hs has shown this season, he will definitely be someone that the program can build around as some of the talented veteran runners exit this season.
Also having great days at the AAC Championships on the men's side included senior Will Ort, who finished as the third Eagle to cross the finish line. He had a time of 26:59. He was followed closely by sophomore Ben Pearce, who had a respectable time of 27:02. Pearce will join Dodson and others like Uriel Guzman, Will Baldwin, and Wes Fow, who will lead the Eagles the next few seasons.
