Dyess and White are Heading to Peru for the FISU America Games

Lima, Peru - Reinhardt University and NAIA Track & Field National Qualifier Michael Dyess has been selected to represent the United States in the Men's Javelin throw at this summer's FISU America Games (July 30 – Aug 1). The FISU America Games (also known as the University Pan America Games) is an international multi-sport event organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU) for nations from North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. To be eligible, an athlete must be between the ages of 18 and 25 and enrolled in classes toward a degree. Dyess is a rising junior coming off a stellar sophomore campaign in which he qualified for his first NAIA Outdoor National Championship meet by throwing a lifetime best of 58.87m and was the AAC runner-up, finishing right behind teammate Ethan Rice. This is a great opportunity for Dyess as he looks to build upon last season's success and chase an All-American finish at the 2027 NAIA Outdoor Championships.

Joining Dyess will be Coach Josh White, who will serve as the throws coach for Team USA. White is currently in his 5th season as the throws coach here at Reinhardt, the first of which was as a graduate assistant while earning his Master's in Sports Administration and Leadership in 2022. Across 4 seasons, his throwers have broken 60 school records. In addition to David Friedberg's 3 NAIA National Championships, Coach White's throwers have won 13 AAC titles and brought a total of 27 AAC medals back home to Waleska and had 12 NAIA national qualifiers. In 2023, Coach White was voted the NAIA South Region Mens Assistant Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA. This is his 2nd time representing Reinhardt on the Team USA coaching staff, after being on the staff for last summer's FISU World University Games in Germany.
