Clay and Verrill Tie for 2nd Place at Eagle Spring Invitational
Adairsville, GA - Reinhardt Men's Golf hosted the Eagles Spring Invitational at Barnsley Gardens on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The teams attending along with Reinhardt were Point University, Truett-McConnell, University of Mobile, and Tennessee Wesleyan.
The tournament was a two-round tournament where Point University would eventually come out on top. Reinhardt finished in third - just seven strokes behind the leader. The Eagles scored 303 in round one and 299 on day two for a total of 602 as a team.
Individually, Hunter Clay and Kevin Verrill tied for second place both with a total of 148. Clay had a 77 in round one and a 71 in the second round. Verrill hit par (72) on day one and shot a 76 on day two for a total of 148.
Brooks Gineris and Jack Haller both tied for ninth position with 153 total. They both had duplicate scores on both days. On day one, each shot 77 and on day two, they shot 76 total.
Dylan Long was not far behind them in fourteenth position with a total of 156. Chanc Willis followed with a total score of 161 and Tyler Ryan shot 174 for the two-day total.
Next up for the Eagles is a trip to the AAC Tournament where the Eagles are defending champions. The AAC Championships will take place in Seneca, SC at Cross Creek Country Club on April 24 & 25. Upon qualification, the Eagles have a chance to go back to the NAIA Nationals which take place on May 16-19 in Mena, AZ.
