Eagles Finish Fifth Overall at Carey Collegiate Classic
Hattiesburg, MS - The Eagles competed in the William Carey Collegiate Classic on Monday and Tuesday this week with very good results. The team finished in fifth overall, but Dalton Henson had a 69 in round one and finished in tenth place in the individual standings and this was the top position for the Eagles. Henson had a total of 221 for the three rounds and the team had a total of 891.
Jack Haller was next with a total score of 223 and had a low score of 72 in his second of three rounds. Haller finished tied for thirteenth in the individual standings.
Chanc Willis came in just behind Henson and Haller with a total of 224 and nineteenth position. Willis had a low score of 73 in his third round. Finishing up for the Eagles were Kevin Verrill with a 227 total and Hunter Clay with a 229 total.
All the Eagles were very close in scores at this very competitive tournament. As the season progresses and the Eagles start getting more consistency through their three tournament rounds, they will be moving up the standings.
The Eagles will have next week off from tournament play and will return in two weeks when they compete at the USC-Beaufort Invitational at Oldfield Country Club. After this, the Eagles will host their own tournament at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, GA on April 10-11.
