Eagles Golf gets the Spring Season Underway at the Dalton State Invitational
Valdosta, GA - Eagles Men's and Women's Golf kicked off their 2023 Spring Season with the Dalton State Invitational, which was held at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. The Men's Team finished 5th overall and the Women's Team came in 7th place overall.
Several golfers had great opening days as they start the preparation for the AAC Tournament and qualification for the NAIA Nationals. Chanc Willis was the top golfer on the Men's side shooting 219 over the three rounds (54 holes) and he had the tournament's low round score of 66. Willis placed 8th overall.
Lauren Welte was the top golfer on the Women's side finishing in 6th place overall with a three-round total of 231. Her low of the three rounds was 74, which she shot in the second round.
Hunter Clay finished just behind Willis in 12th position with a score of 221 and was followed by Jack Haller (225), Kevin Verrill (227), Brooks Gineris (227), and Dylan Long (235).
Following Welte was Brooke Newsome (264), Caroline Goodard (267), Maggie Mullins (283), and Debbie Blount (309).
The Men's Team will be back on the course on March 6 & 7 at the Point Invitational in Newnan, GA. The Women's Team will have a tournament on February 27 & 28 at USCB.
