Men's Golf Finish 6th at AAC Fall Finale
Seneca, SC - Eagles Men's Golf were competing in their final event of the fall season on Monday and Tuesday of this week. The tournament had 16 total teams which had top-ranked teams like Dalton State, Coastal Georgia, and the University of South Carolina-Beaufort. The tournament was held at Cross Creek Plantation.
The Eagles have had a successful fall season coming off their Spring 2022 AAC Championship run. The same team is back which is full of talented players like Hunter Clay, Jack Haller, Brooks Gineris, and Chanc Willis. At any tournament, each one of these guys has a chance to win - but golf can be a difficult and challenging game at times.
In the AAC Fall Preview, the Eagles would finish in a respectable 6th place finish as a team with Jack Haller leading the way. Haller would finish in 10th place overall out of 92 total golfers. He finished 3rd best golfer from the AAC just behind golfers from Point University and Truett McConnell. Haller had three rounds of 75, 72, and 75 for a total of 222.
Next for the Eagles was Brooks Gineris tied for 17th position with a total of 226 and Hunter Clay was not far behind with a score of 237. Dylan Long and Chanc Willis followed just behind both with a score of 243 for the 54 total holes.
The Eagles will have some time off before they officially start back again for the spring 2022-23 season and the Eagles will be looking to repeat as AAC Champions and move on to the NAIA Nationals. With the fall season success and time to work on their games some during the winter months, the Eagles will be ready to go once the spring season gets going. Look for Coach Nichols' crew to play top-notch golf and compete hard for titles throughout the spring season.
The Women's Golf Team will be up next with their AAC Fall Preview on Oct 24th and 25th at Link Hill CC in Greenville, SC.
