Hunter Clay Moves Up World Amateur Golf Rankings
Waleska, GA - With his recent Top 10 finish at the NAIA Nationals, Hunter Clay moves up the list of the World Amateur Golf Rankings. The World Amateur Golf Rankings (WRAG) keep up with amateur golfers around the world for all levels of play. Athletes gain points by playing in certain tournaments that are recognized by the WRAG.
During the season, Clay had two tournaments where he was the overall winner. He was the leader for the Eagles the entire season and this continued on into the AAC Tournament where the Eagles won the championship on the men's side. Clay led the way at the NAIA Nationals as well keeping Reinhardt in the top 15 spots.
Coach Nichols had this to say about Hunter Clay and the new rankings, " He (Clay) is the second player to be at Reinhardt who has been recognized and ranked on this prestigious list of amateur players. With his 10th place finish at Nationals, he has moved up to 3,419. This rank may seem high, but keep in mind, that this ranking list considers all the amateurs who play in "counting events" that exist on the entire planet. The NAIA host events that Reinhardt Golf play in and these events provide an opportunity for players to gain points in the WAGR. Hunter Clay seized that opportunity this year in a big way."
