ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. - Reinhardt punched its ticket to the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship Tournament as it won the 2022 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Golf Championships.

Sitting sixth after the first round, Reinhardt began to steadily climb the leaderboard with a 290 during the second round and 306 in the final round. The Eagles finished with a 40-over 904 and finished 19 strokes better than Milligan (923) and Truett McConnell (923), which tied for second place.
Hunter Clay was the overall winner of the tournament as he had an incredible second round with a score of 68. That was the top round of the whole tournament. Clay finished with a total score of 217 for the three rounds, which tied him with John Houk of Tennessee Wesleyan. Jack Haller came in at sixth place with a total score of 228. Chanc Willis came in 11th with a score of 232 and Dalton Henson finished in 12th overall with a score of 234.
By winning this tournament, the Eagles will have an automatic bid to the NAIA Nationals that will take place at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL, on May 17-20.
In addition to the Men's Team winning the AAC Championship and having the overall tournament winner, the Eagles had two members that made the All-Conference Team. Hunter Clay and Jack Haller both found their way to the AAC All-Conference Team for their outstanding seasons and championship tournament.
Coach Evans Nichols is excited about the direction his team is headed and the way they are following his Be S.H.A.R.P. program. He had this to say about the team after their great performance this week, "Our finish at the conference shows that our program is making us sharper as individuals and as a team!"
The Men's Team will be off for the next few weeks preparing for the NAIA Nationals, however, the Women's Team will be doing the same thing next Monday and Tuesday for the AAC Women's Championships at Barnsley Gardens.
