Okatie, SC - The Eagles Men's Golf Team participated in the USCB this week where they placed in sixth place in a very talented field of golf teams. The tournament was hosted by the Sand Sharks of the University of South Carolina Beaufort, which also took the tournament win.
The Tournament was held at Oldfield Golf Club which was a nice setting near the coast of South Carolina and the weather was perfect for golf. The course is 7,025 yards and a par 72 and it is 54 holes in length. Each school played 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
The Eagles did not have the success that they had at the past few tournaments where several Eagles were in the top 10 finish, but the team did not do bad placing in the middle of the pack of some top golf programs. Chanc Willis and Kevin Verrill would lead the Eagles in this tournament with Jack Haller not finishing far behind. The top round in the tournament was an amazing 66 which was shot by the eventual winner from USCB. Jack Haller had the best round for the Eagles shooting par in round one. Kevin Verill would be one over at 73 in his last round.
Both Golf Teams will be competing in the Milligan Invitational on April 11-12 in Elizabethton, TN. After that, both will be focused on the AAC National Qualifier coming up at the end of April.
