Golf Performs Well at Point Invitational

LANETT, Ala. – The first tournament of the fall season is now in the books and Reinhardt had both the men's and women's squads at the Point Invitational over the weekend.
Jack Haller paced the 17th-ranked Eagles on the course in the two-day event with a second-place finish at 6-under-par – one shot behind Trevor Poole of Point (Ga.). Haller, who shot 66, 70 (136), helped the team finish in third overall (+3; 571).
Chanc Willis finished in sixth at 3-under-par, who was followed closely by Hunter Clay in 12th (+3). Dalton Henson and Brooks Gineris also came into the clubhouse in a tie for 21st and a tie for 30th, respectively.
On the women's side, the club finished in sixth overall. Individually, Katie Kauffman signed her card after two rounds with a top-10 placement in a tie for eighth (+21). Lauren Welte was three shots back in a tie for 14th and Brooke Newsome placed in 27th.
Not to be outdone, Debbie Blount (34th) and Maggie Mullins (37th) finished in the top 40 apiece.
The women next tee it up on Sept. 25 in the TWU Invitational, while the men's team travels to Innisbrook Golf Resort for tournament play beginning on Sept. 27.
