WALESKA, Ga. – Three Eagle golfers – Brooks Gineris, Jack Haller and Chanc Willis – have qualified and will compete in the 100th Georgia Amateur Championship later this week on July 8-11 at Cherokee Town & Country Club (North) in Atlanta.
The event is open to male amateur golfers who are Georgia State Golf Association (GSGA) members, residents of the state of Georgia and must not have a handicap index exceeding 10.0. The field of 144 players will compete over 72 holes of stroke play and will cut to low 70 and ties after 36 holes.
The trio of student-athletes teeing it up at the course is a new Reinhardt record, and Haller will be making his second-consecutive appearance in the tournament.
"Excitement," head coach Evans Nichols said. "This is the most guys we have had playing in the event in the same year that are also on the team at Reinhardt. Chanc qualified at Idle Hour Country Club, while Brooks qualified at Double Gate and Jack qualified at The Legends at Chateau Elan."
Tee times for round one have been posted for the Championship, and Gineris will begin his play on hole No. 10 at 8:50 a.m. Haller and Willis are paired in the same group that will go off No. 1 beginning at 12:50 p.m.
