Marietta, GA - Reinhardt Men's Soccer was back in action after coming off a big comeback tie in the home opener versus Point University on Friday evening. This time, they didn't have the comeback in them as they dropped the game 5-2 at Life University at Lupo Family Field. The Running Eagles took an early 2-0 lead and never looked back against the visiting Eagles.
Life quickly added to this, establishing a significant lead by halftime with a score of 4-1. Reinhardt struggled to contain the offensive onslaught from Life's players, including Finn Seijsener, Stan Van Der Laan, Thomas Rodella, Andrei Apostu, and Augusto Del Rio, all of whom found the back of the net during the match. The Eagles saw a glimmer of offensive success with goals by Trey Aiello and John Simmons, with notable assistance from Cristian Gonzalez, who set up Aiello's goal.
The second half allowed Reinhardt to slightly regroup and manage the pace better, but Life University maintained dominance, eventually concluding the match with a final score of 5-2. The game-winning goal was notably scored by Thomas Rodella for Life, securing them the victory in the 33rd minute. Both teams had strong goalie performances, with Reinhardt switching between Andree Meza and James Ashcroft during the match.
The Eagles will look to put this game behind them as they continue to grow in this young season. Next up for the Eagles will be an AAC matchup on September 6, 2025, against Bluefield University in Bluefield, Virginia. As they prepare for this upcoming challenge, adjustments and critical analyses of their defensive and offensive strategies will be essential to turn around their season.
