WALESKA, Ga. -- Tara Mathis, from Cartersville, Ga., has signed a letter of intent to attend Reinhardt University this fall and play tennis for the Lady Eagles in the spring of 2012 under head coach Jennifer Sackman. The 5-foot-6 Mathis comes to Reinhardt from Cass High School in White, Ga., where she played for head coach Chris Allen.
 Freshman Cassie Quast was the lone Reinhardt player to be selected to the 2011 All-AAC Team.

WALESKA, Ga. -- Eight members of Reinhardt University's 2011 men's and women's tennis squads were recently honored with postseason awards from the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Reinhardt had five men's players and three women receive some type of all-conference recognition.
 Nahum Vigo-Fas won at both No. 1 doubles and No. 5 singles in the Eagles' 5-0 victory over UVA-Wise on Friday morning.

WALESKA, Ga. -- In postseason play on Friday at the Champions Club Tennis Complex, the Reinhardt University men's and women's tennis teams won opening-round matches before having their 2011 seasons end with losses to the top seeds. In the men's NAIA Unaffiliated Group 6 Championship tournament, No. 8-seed Reinhardt shut out the ninth-seeded University of Virginia's College at Wise Highland Cavaliers 5-0 before falling 6-0 to the Union College (Ky.) Bulldogs, who are ranked 10th nationally in the NAIA. In women's play at the NAIA Unaffiliated Group 2 Championship, the No. 8-seeded Lady Eagles picked up a forfeit win over the No. 9-seeded Fisk University Lady Bulldogs before suffering a 5-1 setback to the Martin Methodist College RedHawks, who are rated 18th in the country at the NAIA level.

WALESKA, Ga. -- Reinhardt University tennis players Nick Draghiceanu and Mandy Renta were each named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week in men's tennis and women's tennis, respectively, for their play from April 18-24. It marks the first time for each to earn the weekly conference honor.
 Kayla Spivey posted wins at both No. 2 doubles and No. 3 singles for the Lady Eagles on Wednesday.

WALESKA, Ga. -- On Tuesday, the Reinhardt University men's and women's tennis teams concluded their 2011 regular seasons with lopsided Appalachian Athletic Conference victories over the visiting Bluefield College Ramblin' Rams and Lady Rams, respectively. The Reinhardt women's squad won 8-1 and the men 7-2.
