WALESKA, Ga. -- Reinhardt University baseball player Drew Tyson was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday. Tyson, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound right-handed pitcher, just completed his junior season with the Eagles and became the first player drafted out of the Reinhardt program, which began in 2005.

The nine-team, double-elimination event is taking place at Hunter-Wright Stadium with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship tournament.
 Michael Willis was one of three Reinhardt senior players to garner All-AAC accolades in 2010.

WALESKA, Ga. -- Several members of the 2010 Reinhardt College baseball team were recently honored with postseason awards from the Appalachian Athletic Conference. In a vote of the 10 AAC head coaches, Reinhardt had three all-conference performers, two players named to the Gold Glove Team and eight all-academic selections.
 Matt Dalton pitched solid seven innings for the win in the Eagles' tournament victory on Monday afternoon in Kingsport.
