ROME, Ga. -- The Reinhardt College women's basketball team opened its 2009-10 season on Friday night with a 52-41 loss to the host Lady Hawks in the Shorter College Tip-Off Classic inside the Winthrop-King Centre.

WALESKA, Ga. -- Nikki Maples has been added to the Reinhardt College athletic department as an assistant women's basketball coach. He will assist head coach Amanda Clonts with directing Reinhardt's intercollegiate women's basketball program, which competes as part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

WALESKA, Ga. -- Brooke Satterfield, a 5-foot-7 guard from Canton, Ga., has signed an athletic grant-in-aid to attend Reinhardt College in the fall and play basketball for the Lady Eagles in 2009-10 under head coach Amanda Clonts. Satterfield will come to Reinhardt from nearby Cherokee High School in Canton, where she played for head coach Matt Cates.

WALESKA, Ga. -- One member of the 2008-09 Reinhardt College women's basketball team was honored with a postseason award from the Southern States Athletic Conference on Wednesday night. In a vote of the 11 conference head coaches, Reinhardt's Jordan Marsh was chosen to the six-member SSAC All-Freshman Team.

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- The Reinhardt College women's basketball team had its 2008-09 season come to an end on Saturday afternoon with a 91-61 Southern States Athletic Conference loss at the Berry College Lady Vikings inside the Steven J. Cage Center.
