WALESKA, Ga. -- In its 2010 home opener on Wednesday evening, the Reinhardt University volleyball team improved to 5-0 overall on the young season, matching its best start in school history, after hammering the NCAA Division III Wesleyan College Pioneers 3-0 (25-4, 25-9, 25-7) in non-conference play inside the James & Sis Brown Athletic Center.

LEBANON, Tenn. -- The Reinhardt University volleyball squad posted two more wins on Saturday, claiming the Cumberland Volleydawg Classic co-championship with a perfect 4-0 record over the two-day event. Reinhardt began the day by beating the Faulkner University Eagles (from Montgomery, Ala.) by the score of 3-1 (24-26, 25-15, 25-15, 25-15) before finishing with a 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-17, 25-22) over the Mountain State University Lady Cougars (out of Beckley, W.Va.). Cumberland University, the alma mater of Lady Eagles first-year head coach Jenny Hayes, hosted the six-team event at Dallas Floyd Recreation Center and also went 4-0 for a share of the title.

LEBANON, Tenn. -- On Friday as part of the Cumberland Volleydawg Classic, the Reinhardt University volleyball team opened its 2010 season and began a new era under first-year head coach Jenny Hayes with two decisive wins. Reinhardt started with a 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 26-24) victory over the Pikeville (Ky.) College Lady Bears before coming right back with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-7) triumph against the Tennessee Temple University Crusaders (from Chattanooga). Cumberland University, Hayes' alma mater, is hosting the two-day, six-team event at Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.

WALESKA, Ga. -- Jenny Hayes has been added to the Reinhardt College athletic department as the head women's volleyball coach. She will direct Reinhardt's intercollegiate women's volleyball program, which competes as part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

KINGSPORT, Tenn. -- On Wednesday at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament inside Meadowview Marriott, the No. 5-seeded Reinhardt College volleyball team won its first match and lost its second before having its 2009 season end in a one-set playoff. Reinhardt defeated the eighth-seeded Virginia Intermont College Lady Cobras 3-0 (27-25, 26-24, 25-18), fell to the No. 2-seeded Bryan College Lady Lions 3-2 (25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-9) and then lost to the fourth-seeded Milligan College Lady Buffaloes 25-16 for the right to advance to Thursday's four-team, single-elimination bracket play.
