Glen Crawford - Head Coach

Glen Crawford, the 2010 Appalachian Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, just completed his third season as the head softball coach at Reinhardt University. He has led Reinhardt to a 101-56 overall record in his three years at the helm, including a 44-32 mark in conference play.

In 2010, Crawford guided his Lady Eagles to the best season in the six-year history of the program. After being picked to finish in fifth place in a preseason poll of the conference's head coaches, Reinhardt won the AAC regular season championship by four games with a 14-2 record and concluded the campaign at 40-11 overall. Along the way, the Lady Eagles set several single-season school records, including those for wins, shutouts (23), longest winning streak (11 games) and most victories to start a season (seven).

During the 2009 season, Reinhardt went 29-22 overall and 17-15 in the Southern States Athletic Conference for fifth place. In 2008, his first year at the helm, Crawford led the Lady Eagles to a 32-23 overall record, including 13-15 in SSAC play for fourth place.

Crawford arrived at Reinhardt from McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Ga., where he served as both a softball and baseball coach. Crawford was the head fastpitch softball coach at McEachern in 2006 after spending the previous two years as an assistant. He also served as an assistant coach for the Indians' baseball program for three seasons. In 2004, he coached baseball at Lithia Springs (Ga.) High School.

A Hillsboro, Ohio, native, Crawford currently resides in Ellijay, Ga., with his wife Julie and daughters Haylie and Riley.

Leigh Wintter came to Reinhardt prior to the 2009 season after being at NCAA Division I Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. She served as a volunteer graduate assistant at Marshall in 2007 and 2008 after earning four letters there as a player from 2003-06.

As a player with the Thundering Herd, Wintter was a four-year starter at third base who earned scholar-athlete honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association all four seasons. She ranks among MU's career leaders in home runs (27), doubles (39), RBIs (126), total bases (276), games played (226) and at-bats (640). During her four years, Marshall posted a 143-87 overall record, including 67-29 in conference games. The Herd claimed Mid-American Conference regular season championships in 2003 and 2005 before moving into Conference USA in 2006. Wintter was a Second Team All-MAC performer in 2005 and capped off her career by being selected to the 2006 Conference USA All-Tournament Team.

"One thing led to another and here I am," Wintter said. "I'm excited about being here and excited about the upcoming year to see what this program is all about."

Wintter received her bachelor's degree in physical education and master's in athletic administration from Marshall in 2006 and 2008, respectively. She is from nearby Acworth, Ga., and is a 2002 graduate of North Cobb High School.
