ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- Reinhardt University head softball coach Glen Crawford, the 2010 Appalachian Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, recently served as a featured speaker at the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association's 71st Annual Summer Conference. The event took place from July 1-3 at Sea Palms Resort on St. Simons Island, Ga.
Several individuals spoke during the three-day conference, including college and high school coaches from the sports of basketball, cheerleading, football and softball. Coaches who presented included Bob Huggins (head men's basketball coach at West Virginia University), Brad Brownell (head men's basketball coach at Clemson University), Tony Barbee (head men's basketball coach at Auburn University), Joker Phillips (head football coach at the University of Kentucky), Mike Bobo (assistant football coach at the University of Georgia) and Andy McCollum (assistant football coach at Georgia Tech).
Crawford spoke last Friday morning on the topic of outfield play. He was one of five softball coaches who were scheduled to appear.
In 2010, Crawford earned his 100th career victory in his third season at the helm of the Reinhardt program. Last season, he led his Lady Eagles to the AAC regular season championship and to a school-record 40 wins against just 11 losses. His overall career record at Reinhardt is 101-56 for a .643 winning percentage.
