WALESKA, Ga. -- Cassie Quast, from Chatsworth, Ga., has signed a letter of intent to attend Reinhardt College in the fall and play tennis for the Lady Eagles during the 2011 spring season under head coach Jennifer Sackman. The 5-foot-5 Quast will come to Reinhardt from Murray County High School in Chatsworth, where she played for head coach Coulter Redding.
Quast, the daughter of Gary and Becky Quast, was a four-time letterwinner at Murray County, playing No. 1 singles as a senior and No. 1 doubles as a junior. This past season, she led the Lady Indians to a 9-4 overall record as a Region 7-AAAA member. A fine all-around student-athlete, Quast also competed in volleyball the last two seasons as an outside hitter. In volleyball, she once earned her team's Best Defensive Player award and the Coaches Award.
"I had already applied to Reinhardt and I was accepted, and I later decided that I wanted to play tennis," Quast said. "I love tennis and I've been playing since I was 5."
Quast chose the Lady Eagles over playing at Shorter College or attending the University of Georgia.
