Montreat got out to a 2-0 lead with a single run in each of the first two innings before Reinhardt scored once in the second and twice in the third to take a 3-2 advantage. The Eagles tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Reinhardt outhit the Cavaliers 9-6. The Eagles stranded nine base runners and Montreat seven. Defensively, the Cavaliers committed two errors while the winners played error-free.

Brent Martin was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Reinhardt while Billy King ended 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored. Cory Cox (double, sacrifice hit), Brad Blalock (walk, two runs scored) and Blaine Martin (run scored) each went 1-for-3 while Michael Willis singled and knocked in a pair of runs. Jeremy Roberts chipped in with a single while Michael Lonati was hit by a pitch and scored a run.
