WALESKA, Ga. -- Nick Draghiceanu, from Canton, Ga., has signed a letter of intent to attend Reinhardt College in the fall and play tennis for the Eagles during the 2011 spring season under head coach Jennifer Sackman. The 6-foot, 170-pound Draghiceanu will come to Reinhardt from Woodstock (Ga.) High School, where he played for head coach Paul McLendon.
Draghiceanu, the son of George and Amy Draghiceanu, was a four-year letterwinner at Woodstock who played No. 1 singles the past four seasons for the Wolverines. An honor student at WHS, he has played in several high-level national, regional and state tournaments, earning United States Tennis Association rankings.
Draghiceanu chose the Eagles over scholarship offers from NCAA Division II Lincoln Memorial University, NCAA Division III members Oglethorpe University and Huntingdon College, Young Harris College and the Coastal College of Georgia.
