CALHOUN, Ga. -- Adolphus Allen and Tucker Blaylock, from Calhoun, Ga., have each signed a letter of intent to attend Reinhardt College in the fall and play junior varsity basketball for the Eagles in 2010-11 under head coach Heath Hooper. Allen and Blaylock will come to the College from Sonoraville High School in Calhoun, where they played for head coach Brent Mashburn, a Reinhardt alumnus and former basketball player for the Eagles.
Allen, the son of Steve and Paula Allen, is a 6-foot shooting guard who averaged 13.4 points per game as a senior. He shares the school's single-game scoring record of 29 points and finished as Sonoraville's third all-time leading scorer.
"Adolphus really came on strong for us his last two seasons, averaging double figures as a junior and senior in scoring and also grabbing over five rebounds a game each season," Mashburn said. "His athletic ability made him a tough matchup on the floor and also helped him become a solid defender."
Blaylock, the son of Troy and Deedee Blaylock, is a 6-foot point guard who tallied six points a game for the Phoenix in 2009-10.
"Tucker developed into a true point guard for us, that really understood the importance of getting his teammates involved," Mashburn said. "He became a strong ball handler and a really good leader on the floor.
"Tucker and Adolphus are both guys that have been instrumental in building the success of the basketball program at Sonoraville. I'm excited for them that they have the opportunity to continue playing basketball at the next level."
