CENTRAL, S.C. – The Reinhardt College men’s soccer squad finished its regular season on Saturday with a 2-0 win at Southern Wesleyan University in a Southern States Athletic Conference game. The victory makes Reinhardt the No. 4 seed in the upcoming SSAC Tournament and the Eagles will host No. 5-seed Southern Wesleyan in the first round on Tuesday. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Jim and Syble Boring Sports Complex.
Following a scoreless first half, Reinhardt’s Padraig McDonagh (Drogheda, Ireland) scored a goal off an assist from freshman Joey Syfert (Marietta, Ga.), giving the guests a 1-0 advantage. Later as time was winding down, the Eagles tacked on an insurance goal from Miguel Moreira (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) – the first of his collegiate career – with Neil Skinner (Suwanee, Ga.) being credited with an assist.
Reinhardt improves to 9-6 overall on the season and finishes 5-4 in conference regular season play. With a victory this Tuesday, Reinhardt will advance to the SSAC Tournament semifinals and play top-seed Berry College on its home field in Mount Berry, Ga., on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
