WALESKA, Ga. -- On Sunday afternoon in a non-divisional game, the Reinhardt College men's lacrosse team lost 16-8 to the visiting University of Alabama Crimson Tide at Ken White Lacrosse Field. Both squads are affiliated with the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association and the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference, but Reinhardt is a Division II member and Alabama is a part of Division I.
The Crimson Tide got out to a 2-0 lead before the Eagles tied the contest. Trailing 5-2 after one quarter, Reinhardt pulled to within two at 5-3 and 6-4 before falling behind 10-4 at the intermission. The Eagles tallied two quick goals to start the second half, trimming the deficit to 10-6, but Alabama came back to establish a 14-6 advantage after three periods.
Freshman Dustin Carnahan produced three goals and an assist for Reinhardt while Channing Hoyt also scored three goals. Freshman Zack Muller had a goal and two assists while freshman Levor Bryan delivered a goal. Stefen Raymond-Hussey collected an assist while freshman Sean Aghai was credited with six ground balls. Freshman Alex Elarbee came up with 16 saves in goal.
The Eagles drop to 0-6 overall while the Crimson Tide move to 3-7. Reinhardt concludes its regular season by hosting an SELC Central Division game against the Georgia State University Panthers on Saturday at 2 p.m.
