ATHENS, Tenn. -- On the road for its third straight Appalachian Athletic Conference game, the Reinhardt College women's basketball team dropped a 59-49 decision to the Tennessee Wesleyan College Lady Bulldogs on Wednesday at James L. Robb Gymnasium.
The score was tied 27-27 at halftime. In the second half, Reinhardt was outscored 32-22 after making just 6-of-28 (21.4 percent) of its field goal attempts.
Tennessee Wesleyan finished at 38.5 percent (20-of-52) from the field, including 6-of-19 (31.6) from three-point range, compared to just 31.1 percent (19-of-61) and 2-of-16 (12.5 percent), respectively, for the Lady Eagles. From the free throw line, the Lady Bulldogs ended 13-of-30 (43.3 percent) while their guests were only 9-of-22 (40.9 percent). TWC had a 40-36 advantage in rebounds.
Off the bench, Reinhardt got a game-high 15 points from Kinsey Galyon while Chase Morgan scored nine and grabbed a game-best nine rebounds. Jemere McCurty collected eight points and four boards while Lindsay Taylor came up with a game-high three steals.
The Lady Eagles fall to 12-17 overall and 6-9 in the AAC while Tennessee Wesleyan is 13-15 overall, including 7-8 in conference play. Reinhardt hosts its final regular season game, an AAC contest with the Union College Lady Bulldogs, on Saturday at 2 p.m. Following the women's game, the Union and Reinhardt men's squads play at 4 p.m. as part of a doubleheader. Saturday is also homecoming and Senior Day for the basketball teams at Reinhardt.
